This week, members of the English Speaking Club gathered to explore the rich history and vibrant arts of Azerbaijan, offering participants an engaging opportunity to practice their communication skills while discovering a unique cultural heritage.
The session opened with an overview of the country’s ancient past, highlighting Gobustan’s prehistoric rock carvings and the strategic role the region played along the historic Silk Road as a cultural bridge between East and West.
The conversation then shifted toward Azerbaijan’s artistic legacy, where attendees examined the intricate patterns of traditional carpet weaving and the emotive improvisations of Mugham music, an art form deeply rooted in classical poetry and regional identity.
