Azerbaijani ESC Former Volunteers’ Annual Meeting in Sumgait
Hello, I’m Günay from Azerbaijan!
This August, I had the chance to join the Azerbaijani ESC Former Volunteers’ Annual Meeting in Sumgait. After completing my 11-month ESC volunteering project at the System and Generation Association in Ankara, it was a great feeling to meet other Azerbaijani volunteers who had completed their projects in different countries.
During the meeting, we took part in different activities, from icebreakers to reflection sessions. We talked about our lives before and after ESC, what we learned, what changed for us, and what we have been doing since our projects ended.
We also shared our volunteering experiences. I talked about my time at the System and Generation Association, the activities I was involved in, and what I learned there. While telling others about my experience, I realized once again how meaningful, active, and full of new experiences my days at the association were.
This year was also special because we celebrated the 30th anniversary of ESC projects together. It was lovely to celebrate this milestone with other Azerbaijani former volunteers.
A big thank you to Common Sense Youth Organization for organizing the meeting and welcoming us so warmly and sincerely. And once again, thank you to System and Generation Association for making my ESC journey so meaningful and memorable.
I came home with new friends, great memories, valuable experiences, and lots of positive energy. I’m really happy to have been part of this beautiful gathering!
