Today, I and our team from System&Generation were with Madam Margherita at the Ankara Refugee Lunch Support Group. There, we organized donations into care packages, and made sandwiches for the families waiting at the UNHCR. We first arrived at Madam Margherita's house and got to work making sandwiches. We were a harmonious sandwich-making machine. Everyone had a role: spreading butter, putting on cheese and salami, bagging the sandwiches. To me, one of the most beautiful parts was how a diverse group of people all contributed to this endeavor. People from Türkiye, Tunisia, Ukraine, Egypt, Bosnia, Morocco, Georgia, Taiwan and more all working together; it was surely an amazing experience. Afterwards, we went to the UNHCR for the best part. We gave all the people there their care packages, sandwiches and juice to go with it. We also gave the children there—who were obviously bored from waiting—toys to play with. Seeing their smiles was simply blissful. I can't wait to go back next week and do it all again.
