Project Location: Milan, Italy.
 
Coordinating Organization: No Borders. The association manages volunteer selection, project administration, and ESC internships.
 
Host Organization: QR52 Center. It is a youth center in Milan that offers after-school activities and support to young people aged 11 to 18, often from multicultural backgrounds.
 
2. Volunteer Activities and Tasks (TASKS)
Volunteers will be involved in various activities with the young people at the center:
 
Help with after-school activities (homework, studying, exams) for young people aged 11 to 18.
 
Support in creative and educational workshops (e.g., ecology, recycling, human rights, ceramics, photography, spray art, gardening).
 
Participation and support in sports activities (basketball, soccer, breakdancing, volleyball, etc.).
 
Help with daily routines (shopping, preparing materials, tidying up).
 
Contribution to the development of new ideas and promotion of international volunteering.
 
Support in organizing external group visits, trips, and vacations.
 
Production of documentation, photos, and videos of activities.
 
3. Schedule and Program (TIMETABLE)
 
Schedule: The volunteer will work 30-35 hours over 5 days a week.
 
Days of Rest: 2 days of rest per week (not necessarily Saturday and Sunday). A willingness to volunteer on weekends for festivals and events is required.
 
Holidays: 2 days of vacation per month.
 
Activities: Activities at the QR52 Center typically take place from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Occasionally, there are themed evenings ("serata") from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
 
Summer Period: From June to the end of September, the schedule and activities change due to school holidays, with a focus on summer camps and back-office activities.
 
4. Volunteer Profile
We are looking for candidates who:
 
Understand the meaning of volunteering and non-formal education.
 
Are open-minded, empathetic, energetic, and have a lot of patience.
 
Are enthusiastic about spending time with young people and enjoy sports.
 
Are flexible, proactive, creative, and respectful.
 
Have intermediate knowledge of English and a strong motivation to learn Italian.
 
5. Accommodation and Financial Support
 
Accommodation (Free): Volunteers will live in a shared apartment in the North of Milan with 5 other ESC volunteers (6 in total). Volunteers will sleep in a double room (shared with a person of the same sex). The accommodation is 1-1.5 hours from the activity center.
 
Financial Support:
 
Pocket money: 6 euros per day.
 
Food allowance: 160 euros per month.
 
Monthly ATM ticket for local transport.
 
Reimbursement of travel expenses (round trip) according to the distances established by the European Commission.
 
Requirements and Additional Support: An EHIC card ('tessera blu') and your own laptop are required. An online basic Italian language course (OLS) will be provided.
