We want to organize this activity because we believe that volunteering is a powerful source to develop peace-related skills and attitudes and because NGOs can play a more decisive role in helping young people to become peace promoters and peacebuilders.

The activity’s general objectives are:
To mainstream the concept of ‘Volunteering for peace’, incorporating peace culture and peace education in the ESC and volunteering activities carried out by each partner organization, finding out how partner organizations can work together towards more peaceful societies using the ESC program.
To improve the support given to young volunteers and ESC participants so they can develop peace-related skills and be more active as peacebuilders.
To promote cooperation and networking among youth workers and voluntary-based NGOs active in the field of youth volunteering, and non-formal and intercultural learning to develop new ESC projects for Peace.

The activity’s specific objectives are:
To encourage a real exchange of ideas and perspectives among youth workers (in a broad sense) regarding peacerelated topics (in a broad sense) and the role of young people.
To learn about conflict management and non-violent communication, and how to use it in the different ESC projects and activities.
To share tools to identify, develop, and recognize key peace skills and attitudes of young volunteers, including active listening and giving and receiving feedback. To finding out how partner organizations can work together towards more peaceful societies using the ESC program.
