Words cannot describe what my one-year volunteering experience in the village of Bergolo in the Piemonte region of Italy has brought me. I am sure that this experience, which I returned with self-confidence on this path I set out with anxiety, will be beneficial for me in many areas of life. I am proud to see that the communication I struggled to establish when I first went there, apart from saying my name and a few simple words, has improved to the point where I can talk about politics, sports, daily life and everything in life. In every period of life, one should improve themselves in every field and always build on what they have today.
Apart from all this, it was very valuable for me to see and experience that Erasmus+ projects include different programs rather than just volunteering. Being part of more than ten projects in Bergolo through youth exchanges and training courses was priceless and learning how to make many Italian dishes was one of the things this project gave me. Helping the municipality of Bergolo was one of our tasks and it was also a pleasure to support them in the concerts they organized and to be part of the fun, and to spend part of our skills in our garden, the main theme of which is sustainability and permaculture, practicing all our skills, all our knowledge and then learning. In addition, I can say that I literally suffered the difficulty of the winter season, as someone who does not like winter in general, I can say that the silence, the calmness, the decrease in work tempo and being confined to the house were very difficult for me.introducing our own country to Italian students at school was one of my favorite activities.
In addition to all these achievements, I was happy to be a part of this project and it was a project I would participate in again and again if I had the opportunity.
