My name is Lavinia, I am originally from Romania but I have lived the last 19 years in Spain. I have never liked to define myself because I have always tried to avoid setting limits and I consider that life is a continuous learning, but if I had to define myself, I would say that I see myself as a fish in a big ocean looking for new experiences to get to know myself more deeply.
Due to my journey as an EVS volunteer in my home country, I had the opportunity to understand a better part of myself by discovering my origins, and also what it means to me to be supportive and the satisfaction of being able to contribute in the local community.
Through volunteering, you are not only offering something to the community, which is the main reason why you do this work, but you also grow as a person and carry out important work of introspection, and even sometimes changing your life. I have decided to participate in this project in Turkey to contribute with my grain of sand to the community, because I believe in solidarity and because I want to rediscover myself while discovering an exciting new culture.
