Hi everyone, it's Gabriele, I'm here again, ready to be again volunteer! I'm from İtaly even if I can say that I've become a little bit Turkish 'türkleştim'.
It's a year and a half that I'm here in Turkey. When I arrived I should have stayed only 4 months and then it happened that I never left. For me, Turkey has become my home.
People often ask me, "Why don't you go back to Italy?" and my answer is always the same: "I am fine here, I want to stay at the moment.
Volunteering has been a life-changing experience for me and I am grateful for this opportunity to participate again. I sincerely hope that I will be able to contribute effectively to the implementation of the activities and gain new skills during this project.
I want to tell you a little story that I read some time ago and I liked it very much.
A fire broke out in a forest and all the animals started to run away scared. The lion suddenly saw a hummingbird collecting some drops of water and shouted to him:
<Get out! You are so small, what do you think to do?> The hummingbird replied, <I am only doing my part!>
I firmly believe that our contribution to society is essential. İt is in sharing with others that we can learn how to develop and improve ourselves. Life can be complicated and difficult but it is important that everyone tries to contribute as much as they can in order to create a better world for everyone.
