Hello everyone!
I’m Martín and I come from Spain.
I have lived in Madrid for all my life, where I graduated high school.
After that, I decided not to go to university because I didn’t know what I wanted to study.
That is why I decided to take this opportunity to volunteer. I’m here in a short-term volunteering and will be staying here for 2 months.
I can describe myself as Shrek would, ‘I’m like an onion’. Not because they stink and make people cry, but because I believe that you have to get to know a person in order to know how they really are. Also applying it to countries and cultures, with this statement in mind, I get to learn how the country works without prejudices and stereotypes.
That is why I like volunteering so much, because you get to know all these amazing people and get to live wonderful experiences.
My first days in Ankara are being great, following the restrictions, I tried to visit a little bit of the city and the few things I have seen for now have captivated me.
I hope that in these two months, I get to know Turkey better and visit as many cities as possible!
