We have 2 projects. Volunteers work in team with other volunteers and under supervision of professionals.
1. Project: 4 volunteers, project in catalogue: 2014-1-LV02-KA110-000482. In Latvia, Jurmala city.
HO: Vaivary primary school: integrative school for children with/with out disabilities
Starting at 01/09/15 – 31/06/16 (10 month EVS in Latvia)
2. Project: 2 volunteers, project in catalogue: 2014-1-LV02-KA110-000483., In Latvia, Riga city.
HO: Support house for young adults after orphanages (social work and support institution);
Starting at 01/06/15 – 30/05/16 (12 month EVS in Latvia)
Main activities for Vaivari school (1st project):
Tasks: Roles of EVS volunteers will be to support work of organization. Main responsibilities and roles would be:
- To support organization to recruit non-formal work in school on base of non-formal education; to organize daily activities for children and support children with disabilities;
- To create and realize own activities with supervision of mentors;
- To support and encourage for changes local community by using different communication tools; to support creating new opportunities for school, parents and local community .
- To organize play afternoons for preschool children and from 1-9 classes as well as to be involved in assigning 3 children with disabilities from 1st-2nd class in in-formal school time;
- To organize non-formal afterschool activities for children from 5 (preschool) to 9 years old, in cooperation with other volunteers and support initiatives of children;
- To organize foreign language (English or your native) course for children.
​Main activities with orphanage project (2nd project):
Tasks:Roles of EVS volunteers will be to support youth worker to organize non-formal and experiential learning activities. Main responsibilities and roles would be:
- To support organization to recruit non-formal educational and support activities, socializing with youth and kinds from disadvantage backgrounds on bases of non-formal education;
- To organize free time activities for children;
- To create and realize own activities with supervision of mentors;
- To support and encourage for changes local community by using different communication tools;
- To participate peer support programme for youth – young adults after orphanages or/and with youth from disadvantage areas;
- To promote interculturality and culture diversity by them self.
All activities will be organised in team and by agreement between project stakeholders as well as volunteer. On base of volunteer educational needs and challenges. So far volunteers created their own passes of activities and implemented art, media, games, communication, collaboration, interculturality activities. We are open to support indicatives of volunteers.
We are looking for well motivated volunteers who are able to carry out interactive workshops and work independently. Highly motivated. Of course with ability to communicate in English. We are able host volunteers with some disabilities as well, but we have to know all special needs for better organising project activities and application as well.
