My Fethiye, my volunteering

Day 3 of our VOLU-MENT meeting went with field visits and rounding up. Our partner consortium visited the Faculty of Health at the Muğla Sıktı Kocman University, where 40-50 students were waiting to raise their questions and share some perspectives on mental health in volunteering. After the university, we went to the place of FETAV, an organisation completely based on volunteers that support people with special health-related challenges. Here, we were also invited for a talk about volunteering and mental health with the head and the local coordinator of FETAV. The leader of the FETEM organisation also shared some personal stories about her own volunteering motivation and benefits.

After our visits, we had a final session for planning upcoming tasks, practicalities, and doing some management tasks. Finally, we closed the day with partner feedback on the meeting agenda, logistics, visits, etc. All together we were satisfied with the meeting and all the work completed.

Now we are looking forward to our next offline meeting in January - this time it will take place in Portugal. We can’t wait!
