The S&G team participated in the Love Exchange project in Hungary between July 24–31 with 5 participants and 1 group leader. Through this experience, our volunteers had the opportunity to develop their understanding of mental well-being, empathy, self-awareness, and healthy communication. Engaging with young people from different cultures, they gained emotional awareness on both individual and collective levels.

Hamza:

I participated in the Love Exchange project in Hungary as a group leader, and it was a truly valuable experience focused on mental well-being and emotional awareness. The creative and heartfelt activities allowed me to connect with participants on a deeper level. A safe and open space was created where everyone truly listened to each other, and we even engaged in mutual mini-therapy-style conversations. This not only helped me better understand others but also allowed me to reflect on myself more deeply.

One of the most important things I learned was the power of simply holding space for others and truly listening. The diverse backgrounds and perspectives of the group enriched my empathy and emotional understanding. I plan to use the insights I gained from this project in my future work related to mental health and in my interactions with young people. It also reminded me of the importance of approaching group leadership with emotional sensitivity and awareness.

Ahmet:

Firstly, attending to this project was really special for me because it was my first time in erasmus. Learning a lot of different culture was improved my knowledge about people nature and about world. And of course i learned a lot of things about Hungarian people and hungary culture.

The activities were sometimes deep and sometimes fun, but the most important thing about the activities we did was that they brought us closer. Because despite we spend just one week in the project, we had a lot of good friendships. Teamwork always works, Every people has a story that you can take a lesson from, if you share a problem with people you can find a solution easily, Thats what i learned from the Love-Exchange Project. Finally i want to thank to System and Generation Organisation. They gave me a chance that live a lot of experiences.

Oğulcan:

This project was one of the most meaningful experiences I have ever had. I met incredible people from different countries, cultures, and backgrounds, and I can genuinely say that these connections helped me grow both personally and emotionally.

Through all the activities, games, challenges, and teamwork… I learned how important collaboration is. We didn’t just play; we bonded, we learned, and we pushed our limits together. The buddy system, in particular, was a great support for me. It helped me form close and honest relationships, and taught me how to communicate better and support someone in a shared journey

Sargun:

Taking part in the Erasmus+ Youth Exchange “Love Exchange” in Nyíregyháza, Hungary was a great experience for me. I met people from many different countries and learned a lot about their cultures and ideas. We had many deep conversations about mental health and personal problems, which helped me see things from new perspectives. I realized that even if we come from different backgrounds, we often share similar feelings and struggles. The project taught me to listen better and understand people without judging. I feel more open-minded, connected, and motivated after this experience.

Mert:

Participating in the Love Exchange project in Nyíregyháza was an unforgettable experience. From the very first day, I felt welcomed and connected, not just to the people, but to the purpose of the project. The sessions on mental well-being, storytelling, and teamwork helped me reflect on myself in ways I hadn’t before. I especially enjoyed the Living Library activity, where we shared personal stories and listened to others with empathy. And I also enjoyed the free time with my friends there. It reminded me how powerful open conversations can be. One of the highlights for me was the people I met. It made the whole journey feel more personal and emotionally supportive. The mix of structured workshops and creative moments like journaling or the walk in nature created a perfect balance. This exchange taught me not only to listen to others but also to myself. I leave Hungary with strong memories, new friendships and a special one :) Something I hope to carry into my daily life back home.

Duru:

I learned about people’s cultural dances, their cuisines, and the alphabets, places, and cities they introduced in their presentations. Besides that, the project was related to music and psychology. That’s why I think I became more comfortable speaking with people, meeting individuals from different cultures, and improving my English. I also learned many other things. It contributed a lot to me.
