My name is Paloma, I’m 27 years old and I come from Barcelona. I’m currently studying a Master in Museology at Strasbourg’s university, in France, where I’ve been living for three years now.
Personally, through volunteering I’ve been able to meet lots of people that I can call friends now. From Strasbourg (where I arrived due to a voluntary service) to Ankara, I’ve been able not only to travel, but to discovering new ways of living and seeing the world we live in. It gave me lots of opportunities and help me finding my passion and my place in the world.
Once you start volunteering you realize that you’re putting the same kind of energy and motivation to whatever you do, and trying to improve all the situations you’re confronted to. Volunteering it’s a way of living.
Having the opportunity of coming to Ankara with S&G it’s been amazing. In the first place I came to validate an internship for university (yes, you can validate internships with volunteering programs!). As I work on accessibility for disabled people this project goes beyond all my expectations, I’m learning more than I could’ve imagined with “Disabled fest project”!
In second place, this project gives me the opportunity to discover not only Ankara, but Turkey next so such amazing people.  I’ll definitely come back to keep discovering after the sanitary crisis!
