Art as a tool for human rights

28.7. - 4.8.2019 Kokkola, Finland

The main goal of our project is to give a better view for participants about different cultures in Europe and minorities in them. We are arranging a week long international camp here in Finland.

As a way to get to work with these subjects we'll arrange different workshops, that'll include arts and open discussion.

The base ideology being in creating discussion through art and to consider how to take a stand through it.
We hope to be able to arrange also an art exhibition as the main event of the camp, so that we'll be able to show the results of the work of participants for a larger group of people.

The workshops and other activities are going to be art- and discussion oriented. One of the workshops is going to be a sign workshop about human rights.

Also we ask all groups to prepare creative ideas for the presentation of your home countries. We wish you to bring some snacks of your home country to share with the other participants.
There is going to be a three part pre-task for the camp that prepares the participants for the human rights theme.
We also wish that every particpant brings 5 printed photos of their own life. Instruction for the photos are:

1) View from your window,
2) Photo of your fridge,
3) Photo of your book/movie/etc collection,
4) Photo of your favourite place at your home town
